Description Appartement Venezia
VENEZIA : Location: Cannaregio, Venice
The Cannaregio sestiere is the second largest in Venice after Castello and the most populated. In this sestiere is the Ghetto di Venezia, which can be reached by crossing the Ponte delle Guglie bridge and walking along the Strada Nova, the main artery of the whole, leading from Santa Lucia station to Rialto. This approximately 25-minute journey begins at the foot of Ponte degli Scalzi and the church of Santa Maria degli Scalzi and ends in Campo dei Santi Apostoli.
The flat boasts an extremely convenient location, being in the lively Cannaregio district just a few steps away from palaces and historical monuments such as the very close Ca D' Oro, the Misericordia Abbey or the city centre itself with the Rialto Bridge and market that can be reached thanks to the Santa Sofia ferry.
We find ourselves on Fondamenta della Misericordia, a lively place well-loved by residents and tourists alike. We enter the building's charming entrance and go up the imposing stone stairwell up to the third floor where the apartment is located. Once entered, we find ourselves in the heart of the apartment. On your left, you find a welcoming room, nestled underneath the exposed beams and surrounded by books and little wooden sculptures from faraway places. Back in the main space of the apartment, on the right there is another bedroom filled with light, gently touched by a warm breeze and adorned with more books that one can count, a television and charming paintings above the bed head. The
view from the bedroom gives onto a neighbouring peaceful inner courtyard. On the left, we walk through a door to the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and washing machine. Following through the kitchen and turning left, we enter again the
main space of the apartment, coming full circle. Sunlight pours in from a glass door on our right, following it we step outside and find ourselves on the jewel of the apartment: its wooden terrace or Altana. Bathed in sunlight, our gaze falls upon its breathtaking views over the roofs of Venice as well as the bell towers from the basilica of San Marco and Madonna dell'Orto. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee in the morning or an aperitivo at golden hour.
The fondamenta on which it is located is famous for its delicious restaurants and lively bars where locals and tourists mingle happily. A glass of wine or spritz with a typical venetian cicchetto is unmatched during the warm summer months. The apar
