The Cannaregio sestiere is the second largest in Venice after Castello and the most populated. In this sestiere is the Ghetto di Venezia, which can be reached by crossing the Ponte delle Guglie bridge and walking along the Strada Nova, the main artery of the whole, leading from Santa Lucia station to Rialto. This approximately 25-minute journey begins at the foot of Ponte degli Scalzi and the church of Santa Maria degli Scalzi and ends in Campo dei Santi Apostoli.
In 1222 one of the most particular and evocative churches in Venice was erected. Renovated in the 18th century, it is an example of the Venetian neoclassical style, and houses, among others, Tiepolo's masterpiece 'The Last Supper'. We start from the incredible Church of La Maddalena, and with just a few steps, we are captured by a brick building with beautiful Gothic windows and a monumental entrance door, on which we find some of the most beautiful 'musi da porton': it is palazzo Contin alla Maddalena. A fabulous 15th-century Gothic building, it houses the fascinating property that we are privileged to present to you. Once through the entrance, we are greeted by a sumptuous entrance hall with classic red Verona marble flooring. A courtyard houses a beautiful well, leading to a condominium alley with an exclusive water door. Ascending to the fourth and top floor, we are greeted by a fine solid wood parquet floor, on the right the bedroom overlooking the rooftops of the city, a beautiful mosaic bathroom, a second room opposite, and a row of four windows flooding the dining area with light. We then find a separate kitchen, and the extraordinary living room with its perfectly restored exposed beams, which allows us to comfortably reach the real jewel of this property: a spectacular roof-terrace of about 15 square metres, from which we can enjoy one of the most magical views of Venice.
