The Cannaregio sestiere is the second largest in Venice after Castello and the most populated. In this sestiere is the Ghetto di Venezia, which can be reached by crossing the Ponte delle Guglie bridge and walking along the Strada Nova, the main artery of the whole, leading from Santa Lucia station to Rialto. This approximately 25-minute journey begins at the foot of Ponte degli Scalzi and the church of Santa Maria degli Scalzi and ends in Campo dei Santi Apostoli.
We reach our flat near the picturesque Campo dei Mori, on the second and last floor of a typical Venetian building sheltered by a calle, which is accessed by crossing a picturesque sottoportico, bordered by a portal in Istrian stone, sculpted with twisted motifs. The external staircase leads to the entrance, where we are greeted by a spacious living room, lit by large windows overlooking a beautiful garden. The ceiling has been finely characterised, exposing some of the exposed dark wood beams. The Venetian terrazzo floor, in warm and varied tones, contributes to the cosy and refined atmosphere. The kitchen, separated by a glass door, is spacious, modern and fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances: a harmonious blend of contemporary design and traditional elements. The flat also has two bedrooms: the master bedroom is spacious and bright, furnished with taste and attention to detail. A large built-in wardrobe provides ample space for storing clothes, while the windows, which also overlook the picturesque courtyard garden, guarantee tranquillity and privacy. The same mood can also be found in the second, slightly smaller bedroom, ideal as a guest room or study. A distinctive feature of this flat, finally, is the delightful little terrace: accessed directly from the kitchen, it is large enough to enjoy an al fresco dinner on summer evenings, with a view over the rooftops of Venice.
